We produce exceptional wines from our estate vineyards in the Puget Sound AVA.

At Bainbridge Vineyards, we do things differently — and intentionally. Every bottle reflects our commitment to regenerative agriculture, local ecology, and community-rooted values. We don’t just make wine — we grow it, live it, and share it.

Draft Horse and Human Powered Farming

Betsey Wittick, our grape grower and winemaker, who pioneered the use of draft horses for farming in Washington State.

Organic & Sustainably Farmed

Our vineyard is certified 100% organic. Healthy soil, thriving vines, and respect for the land guide everything we do. We embrace traditional farming techniques that tread lightly on the land. Our vines are cultivated with the help of draft horses, not tractors — preserving soil health and honoring the rhythm of the land.

Women Owned & Women Led

We’re proud to be a women‑owned and women‑run winery. Our team brings decades of experience to every part of the process — from tending the vines to creating community partnerships to pouring in the tasting room. Meet our team.

Unique Varietals

Our vineyard is home to cool‑climate vitis vinifera varietals that thrive in our maritime environment. This is a very different region than the warmer parts of Washington; our grapes have more in common with notable European growing regions like Northern France, Southern Germany, Hungary, and Austria. The result is a lineup of varietals that are bright and aromatic, and offer a true taste of the place they’re grown. Learn more.

Historic Farmland

Our vineyard sits on land with deep roots. It was once part of the Suyematsu family strawberry farm, founded in 1928 by Japanese‑American farmer Akio Suyematsu, a beloved mentor to generations of Bainbridge Island farmers. Except for the years of Japanese‑American exclusion during World War II, this is the oldest continuously farmed property in Kitsap County.

The acreage is still home to several different farms today, including our owner Betsey Wittick’s Laughing Crow Farm, Bainbridge Island Farms, and Butler Green Farm. Being part of this agricultural lineage is something we take great pride in, continuing the tradition of growing food and wine on soil that has supported our community for nearly a century. Low‑Alcohol, Food‑Friendly Wines

We make wines meant for the table — balanced, delicate, and easy to pair with food. Lower alcohol and lively acidity make them perfect for sharing over dinner and picnics! Learn more.

A Community Wine Garden

Our outdoor wine garden is a space to slow down and enjoy wine where it’s grown. You’ll find our tasting area in the quiet back corner of the historic working farm. Whether you’re sipping under the patio lights, exploring the vines, or picnicking in the meadow, it’s the best of Bainbridge Island — inviting and full of things to learn and explore. Plan your visit!
